LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — SUNY Sullivan will host its 27th annual Kite Festival on Saturday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the campus green, with a multitude of events happening throughout the college. This festival is free and sponsored by SUNY Sullivan, in conjunction with the Sullivan County Visitors Association, WSUL/WVOS Radio and Thunder 102. Free kites will be available to the first 200 children.

This year’s festival will include kite flying, food vendors, activities for children and live music by country singer Cathy Paty. Vendors selling arts and crafts, jewelry and other items will be on hand.

In addition to the kite festival, other events on campus that day include the annual Fisher Film Festival; an art show that will feature the works of SUNY Sullivan students, faculty and staff; a double-header baseball game; and the “Help for Hunger” Honors Program fundraiser.

This will also be “Accepted Students Day,” starting at 10:30 a.m. Students who have been accepted to the college and those who have applied for the fall semester can take tours of campus, a financial aid workshop, placement testing and more. Registration is required. Call 845/434-5750, ext. 4287.

For more information about the kite festival and related weekend activities, email or call 845/434-5750, ext. 4377 or email hegeland@sunysullivan.edu.
