MONTICELLO, NY — The Sullivan County Center for Workforce Development, in partnership with the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce, will hold the county’s workforce summit and employer-education forum, on Wednesday, October 15 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Kartrite Resort & Indoor Water Park’s Grand Ballroom, 555 Resorts World Dr.
Held during National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the free event will highlight the importance of inclusive hiring and workplace practices for individuals of differing abilities. Employers could gain practical strategies, training certifications and toolkits designed to create stronger, more inclusive workforce systems.
Event highlights
Keynote speaker: Ramone Wilson, newly appointed executive director of human rights for Sullivan County.
Educational business panel: Features employer case studies and professionals with lived experience.
Ability First training and certificate: Hosted by the NYS Office of Mental Health, the training offers evidence-based best practices for inclusive hiring and workplace culture.
Takeaways: Attendees will leave with draft action plans and tools to implement inclusivity in their organizations immediately.
Networking opportunities: Employers, job seekers, service providers and advocates can build connections and share resources.
Complimentary hot breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. and is provided by the Sullivan County Center for Workforce Development.
