MONTICELLO, NY — The Sullivan County Center for Workforce Development (CWD), in partnership with the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce (Chamber), will hold a workforce summit on Wednesday, October 22 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Kartrite Resort & Indoor Water Park.
This year’s summit will focus on promoting inclusive workplace practices, particularly for individuals with differing abilities, in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month. The event is designed to provide employers with practical tools, strategies and resources to support inclusive hiring, employment and retention practices, the Chamber said.
Highlights include ability-affirming training, a discount on Chamber membership for participating employers, a complimentary breakfast, which begins at 7:30 a.m.
Training topics include inclusive hiring practices, workplace disclosure and more.
A keynote panel features professionals with experience and case studies on successful inclusive practices.
A focused session will include etiquette and best practices for working with individuals of differing abilities.
It’s also a chance to network and engage with employers, job seekers, service providers and advocates committed to building a stronger, more inclusive workforce.
