SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — District 5 Legislator Cat Scott read a proclamation by the Sullivan County Legislature that named March as Women’s History Month.
Sullivan County’s Congressional representative, Josh Riley (D-19), attended the regular legislative session and witnessed the reading of the proclamation, which states, “We recognize and honor the invaluable contributions of every woman, past and present, who has worked for the county of Sullivan, whose dedication, leadership and service have positively impacted our community, shaping the present and future with their hard work and commitment.”
Along with the proclamation in recognition of the county’s women employees, it says, “During March, we dedicate ourselves to celebrating the achievements, contributions and boundless potential of women while recommitting to ensuring gender equality, respect and opportunities for all women in our communities around the world.”
Scott, who introduced the proclamation, said she thought it was important to recognize Women’s History Month alongside her fellow women legislators. Chair Nadia Rajsz and legislators Amanda Ward and Terry Blosser Bernardo all stood with Scott and the signed proclamation at the legislature.
