CALLICOON, NY — On November 14, the Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce marked its 50th anniversary with a gala at the Villa Roma Resort. The event drew over 320 attendees from across the region.

Robert Ernst, who was honored with the 50th Anniversary Award, took the stage to reflect on the past five decades. He recounted the chamber’s beginnings in 1974 when he founded the organization. Ernst highlighted the chamber’s growth over the years, its evolving role in the community and the countless individuals and businesses that have contributed to its success.

“His remarks served as a reminder of the chamber’s pivotal role in shaping the future of Sullivan County, and the legacy of collaboration and progress that continues to thrive today,” a chamber representative said.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to welcome the next 50 years.

“I am proud to be part of such a vibrant and supportive community,” said Ashley Leavitt, the chamber’s president/CEO. “This ribbon-cutting is not just a symbol of our past successes, but of our commitment to a future where we continue to build stronger connections, foster economic growth and advocate for the betterment of Sullivan County for generations to come.”
