State police investigating Hawk's Nest crash

On Saturday, October 10, 2020 at approximately 4 p.m., state police responded to State Highway 97, in the Hawk’s Nest area in the town of Deerpark for a report of a serious motorcycle crash involving two pedestrians. Investigation revealed that a 2005 Suzuki motorcycle was traveling north on State Highway 97. The operator of the motorcycle, Michael B. Naughton, age 25 of Greentown, PA was traveling at an unsafe speed when he lost control of the bike and struck a rock wall throwing him from the bike causing him to land in the southbound lane. The motorcycle crossed over the north and southbound lanes and onto the west shoulder of SR-97 striking two pedestrians who were standing off the roadway in a pull-off area and then proceeded to strike a parked unoccupied 2020 Kia. The pedestrians were identified as Linas V. Ebelunas, age 60 and his wife, Faustina Sinkuniene, age 65, both of Bronx, NY. 
 
The operator of the motorcycle, Michael Naughton and Linus V. Ebelunas were transported to Westchester Medical Center by Lehigh Valley medivac. Faustina Sinkuniene was transported to Bon Secours Hospital in the city of Port Jervis. Naughton is listed in stable condition with a leg injury. Ebelunas is listed in critical condition, and his wife, Sinkuniene, is being treated for a leg injury.

State Police were assisted by the Sparrowbush Fire Department and the Town of Deerpark Police Department.
