Our nation was founded through men with opposing viewpoints. As they met together and debated facts, opinions and theories, they ultimately came to understand what was best for the nation through what was known as the Articles of Confederation and ultimately the  Constitution.

As Americans, we read our nation’s history and are presented with these opposing viewpoints and understand the banter in the context of vast influences coming from heritage,  commerce, politics, other nations and God Himself. Thankfully our history, whether it was the character of the people at that time or the character of the publishers, chose to leave out a wide variety of childish slander in the public theatre.  

I would like to take this time to reach out to Matthew Contreras and thank him for his service to this nation in uniform, and currently his service out of uniform. My family and I can detect a public attack on a person rather than contending with the principles you are presenting. Since when is citing the Constitution a bad thing? I have never met Mr. Contreras, but seems to me he has some pretty solid points that are being grossly misrepresented.

 I would also like to encourage him in his efforts and tell him not to be discouraged. In life, there are many highs and lows. There are times of great victory and utter defeat; when you go from standing on top of Mount Carmel to fleeing from Jezebel. I am writing to let you know that there are many in this river community who support you and your efforts. Do not feel alone because God has reserved for himself 7,000 who have not bowed their knee to Baal. God bless you and your family, and may God have mercy on America.
