Soap box derby

LIBERTY, NY — On Saturday, June 1, the Town of Liberty will host Sullivan County’s 8th annual Soap Box Derby. The race begins at 8 a.m. on North Main Street. Food vendors will be on-site.

Celebrating art ‘En Plein Aire’

BARRYVILLE, NY — The Artists’ Market Community Center has arranged several local outdoor community events to invite artists to be inspired by nature’s beauty. On Saturday, June 1 from 4 to 6 p.m., a free reception will display some of that artwork. Also scheduled is a brief presentation by Susan Miiller titled “The History and Future of Plein Air Painting.”

‘Betty & Me, a Prelude’ opening

YOUNGSVILLE, NY — On Saturday, June 1, “Betty & Me, a Prelude” will open at Domesticities and be on view until the end of June. This show features pastels by Elizabeth Harms and bentwood sculpture by Kevin Gref, artists who live and work in nearby Jeffersonville. JazzPort launches concert series

PORT JERVIS, NY — On Saturday, June 1 at 7 p.m., Dave Stryker and His Trio will open the inaugural concert series, JazzPort, at UpFront Gallery Exhibition Space located at 31 Jersey Ave. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Tickets cost $10, and this event is BYOB.
