HAWLEY, PA — The Silk Mill and Harmony Presents have teamed up to create a series of daytime Saturday workshops throughout the month of January. Unless otherwise noted, classes meet Saturdays 10 to 11 a.m. Sessions are complimentary, but space is limited and pre-registration is required.
January 4: Improv comedy. Laurie A. Guzda, a professional actor and director with over 30 years experience, will teach improvisational comedy techniques; each exercise is designed as a no-fail method to utilize each individual’s humor and identify strengths.
January 11: Yoga (from 2 to 3:30 p.m.): Maggie Lehrian from Hawley’s Roots Yoga Studio will teach yogic practices and meditations to help alleviate the stresses of winter. Bring a yoga mat, if you have one, and wear comfortable, lose-fitting clothing.
January 18: Belly dance. Retta Zumpone, a professional choreographer and specialist in ballet, hip hop, belly dance, Bollywood and Latin dance will teach “Belly Dance Basics for Fun and Fitness.” Learn basic steps that will tone and strengthen the whole body, and allow you to express the inner dancer within.
January 25: Vision boarding. Jean Dearfoot, a holistic practitioner certified in aromatherapy and Reiki, will guide attendees in creating their own spiritual vision board, helping to manifest the life we honestly, but perhaps silently hope to live.
Students can register online at www.HarmonyPresents.com or call 570/588-8077.
