CRMC annual RISE walk goes virtual: #riseupsullivan

ONLINE — The RISE Program at Catskill Regional Medical Center (CRMC) has canceled the ninth annual RISE organized group walk due to current public health initiatives to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. The event has been reimagined as a social media and online donation campaign.

The 2020 Virtual RISE Walk encourages people who are sheltering in place to exercise at home or walk indoors on a treadmill in support of Sullivan County RISE, during the week of Monday, April 20 through Friday, April 24. As you do, follow these participation guidelines to help maximize exposure of RISE and its important cause, invaluable services and victim advocacy: Wear something red, snap some photos or take a video of your workout and share them on social media. Include a few words about your support for Sullivan County RISE and use the hashtag #riseupsullivan. Walkers should also feel free to post their content to the RISE Walk Facebook page.

For more information, visit www.crmcny.org/rise-walk or call 845/794-3300, ext. 2440. Donations are being accepted at the website now.

Virtual meditation classes, retreats and workshops

The year 2020

HONESDALE, PA — The year 2020 will be forever remembered as the year of the coronavirus pandemic, but it is also Wayne Memorial Hospital’s centennial year and many celebrations were planned to recognize this milestone. While it’s unclear if the May 30 ceremony to re-dedicate the hospital to all who served in the U.S. Armed Forces or the September 19 event in Honesdale Central Park will take place as planned, everyone is invited to visit the hospital’s centennial page and take a virtual stroll down memory lane. Videos capture the hospital’s 100-year history in photos and a few interviews, including one with Dorothy Moser, a registered nurse who worked in the very first hospital on Court Street, as well as a segment entitled “Doc” profiling the beloved Harry D. Propst, MD.

For this “armchair activity,” visit www.wmh.org/our-centennial.
