Running a bird feeder in winter

MILFORD, PA — The Pike County Public Library (PCPL) will hold a Winter Bird Feeder Workshop on Saturday, December 7 at 1 p.m.

This program will be run by members of the Delaware Valley Future Business Leaders of America. This year, the group is concentrating on the environmental needs of the area.

“Often I feel that a lot of our residents believe in the stereotype that if one wants to make a positive impact for the betterment of our community, they have to do big events or activities that may be costly,” said Vidhi Patel, the FBLA’s community services director. “But we believe that even the smallest and simplest forms of giving can be beneficial for the community.”

Why bird feeders?

“We live in an area where snowstorms hit us at random times and so it is crucial that we take care of our surrounding environment and wildlife,” Patel said.
