Roscoe’s nursing center awarded top rating

ROSCOE, NY — VestraCare, an operator of high-quality nursing and rehabilitation facilities, has announced that its Roscoe Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is ranked in the top quintile of the New York State Department of Health’s Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI).

The annual quality and performance evaluation is designed to improve the quality of care for residents in Medicaid-certified nursing facilities across New York State.

The report evaluates 600 nursing homes state-wide based on quality performance and ranks facilities by quintile using a variety of components including quality measures, reporting compliance and efficiency in avoiding unnecessary hospitalizations.

A high quintile rating is impressive because it highlights a facility’s long-term commitment to creating healthier communities and meeting a full spectrum of health care needs.

“I’m extremely proud of our team for attaining this elite distinction,” stated Administrator Joy Wood. “We work hard to stay at the forefront of emergent medicine and incorporate evidence-based clinical practices to provide high-quality care for our residents.”

In addition to staying COVID-free throughout the pandemic, Roscoe is rated five stars out of five by the federal government, which rates every nursing home in the country. It is also the recipient of AHCA/NCAL’s Bronze Quality Award for consistent high-quality care.

Roscoe Rehabilitation and Nursing Center’s services include 24-hour skilled nursing care, subacute rehabilitation and respite/short-term care. For more information, visit www.vestracare.com.
