Robert H. Grab

Robert H. Grab Sr., 90, of Eldred, NY, passed away on January 29, 2021. The son of the late Phillip and Stephanie (Stangle) Grab, he was born August 9, 1930 in Martinsville, NJ. 

Robert worked as a spec writer for Mack Trucks Inc. Once retired, he became a farmer full time. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in Italy. He was a member of the Tusten-Highland-Lumberland VFW Post 6247 and held the position of judge advocate. He was the president of Highland Seniors; he volunteered at the Eldred Seniors Center fitness program and continued to volunteer his time taking seniors for medical appointments. He was also a member of the Barryville United Methodist Church. 

A family statement reads, “Dad was an energetic and independent man. He was kindhearted and always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.” 

He is survived by his two children, Linda Hamilton of Plainsboro, NJ and Robert Jr. of High Bridge, NJ, along with several nieces and nephews. 

Robert is predeceased by his wife, Alice, and two brothers, G. Phillip Grab Jr. and Walter Grab. 

Graveside services were held on Friday, February 5 at the Somerset Hills Cemetery, Basking Ridge, NJ.
