30th annual Delaware River clean-up

BARRYVILLE, NY and MILFORD, PA — The “On and Under the Delaware River Clean-up” is a two day event taking place on Monday and Tuesday, July 15 and 16.

Volunteers will meet at Kittatinny Campgrounds on Monday. Cleanup goes from Ten Mile River Access to River Beach. Volunteers will meet in the National Park Service parking lot next to the Dingmans Ferry Bridge on Tuesday. Cleanup goes from River Beach to Delaware Water Gap.

Volunteers will paddle eight- to 10-mile sections of the river. Kittatinny Canoes provides breakfast, dinner, canoes, life jackets, trash bags and transportation.

Garden restoration and barbeque

LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum (CFFCM) recently won a grant from the Sullivan Renaissance to redo its garden and is calling for volunteers to help on Saturday, July 13 at 10 a.m.

After the weeding and planting is complete, CFFCM will host a barbeque for those who volunteered. Registration is requested by emailing goffice@cffcm.com.

Guided walk through a local landscape

SULLIVAN COUNTY — On Sunday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon, Laura Silverman of The Outside Institute (TOI) will lead fellow naturalists on a nature walk. Attendees will learn about local flora, fauna and edible and medicinal plants.

TOI suggests participants bring sunscreen, bug repellent, water bottle and a notebook/pen to record discoveries.

The walk is limited to 12, costs $25 and registration is required at www.theoutsideinstitute.org. Trail snack included. Location details will be emailed to participants.
