Red Clover,

and ten days later, common whites
that wait until the robust reds
have survived the month of May on
the Forty-First Parallel. To
add blue clover, making it three,
we’ll wait until July the Fourth.

Trump

He’s president my wife exhaled and poured herself a gin
Was it not a sense of pride for us that anyone could win?
We’ve had some awful presidents: Andrew, Dick and sonny
But he’s unique—a snake oil clown—money, money, money
He doesn’t read, taste’s limited to girls in a bikini
He’d like to be a Putin but—imitation Mussolini
The damage that he’s done is really not easy to undo-er
He claimed there was a swamp to drain—and then installed a sewer
Let’s hope that unlike Weimar our institutions hold
And stars and stripes are not replaced by a “swastika” of gold
