Since I am a full-time NJ resident and a part-time PA resident, I have no “skin in this game” when it comes to whether or not Narrowsburg should or should not prohibit marijuana dispensaries and smoking lounges.
It is interesting that at the same time the town appears to be leaning toward prohibition, some residents are upset “that Bar Veloce, a franchise bar with locations throughout New York City, had as of yet been unable to open its Narrowsburg location.”

The anonymous, fake profile, stolen identity and/or hacked account presents the birth of potential posts, comments and blogs that are possibly untrue. The internet, though, retains every online word forever. Newspapers, with online presence, created a platform for everyone to rewrite fact and generate new false histories. People, and therefore humanity, now straddles the real world and the new fabricated cyber one.
A determined individual can, using online commenting, turn a real person’s identity and life into an entirely alternate persona. The cyber persona, fabricated by a perfidious human, can be a Saint or a Demonic Devil. The real person remaining, still, an average Joe or Sue. The real human being blamed or viewed as that Saint or Demon.
A local film maker, elected official, clergy member, landscaper, Facebook administrator or current local political candidate can destroy another human with great ease. Our local newspapers, protected by the Communications Decency Act, are allowed or maybe forced to allow this ruination to occur. Destruction of another human is now commonplace via social media’s newspaper comments. Humanity has been redefined thanks to the Communications Decency Act.
Every reader of this letter is a potential target for some perfidious commenter. Every subscriber of any local newspaper can be victimized. Every child, adult, senior citizen and even deceased human may be targeted by these ugly, anonymous and/or fake cyber assassins. It is your choice to change this new world.
