UNIVERSITY PARK, PA — Penn State Extension has released its 2025 Agronomy Guide, geared toward “farm managers, producers and growers on farms of any size looking for the latest, research-based information on crop, soil and pest management.”

Published every two years, the Agronomy Guide features production information for corn, grain sorghum, soybean, small grains and forages. The guide’s topics range from harvest and storage to farm management and budgeting.

The guide also contains recommendations for managing weeds, insects and diseases. In addition, producers can learn about managing soil health—including fertility management and nontraditional soil amendments—growing cover crops, enterprise budgeting, and the basics of organic crop production.

The 2025 edition includes the latest calibration of the pre-sidedress soil nitrogen test, which is used for making nitrogen fertilizer recommendations for corn, and the latest pesticide tables summarizing product labels and efficacy based on research trials.

The publication draws from the knowledge and expertise of Penn State Extension faculty specialists, field-based educators, USDA scientists and state government agency representatives.

The Penn State Agronomy Guide, which can be previewed and purchased online, is available in print, digital download, or a bundle that includes both versions. More information is available at www.extension.psu.edu/agronomy-guide.
