DINGMANS FERRY, PA — The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) has announced several upcoming learning opportunities.

On Saturday, March 15 from 10 a.m. to noon, PEEC will host an animal tracking and stalking event. Participants will look for animal tracks and signs, learn how to identify animals via their footprints and learn how animals adapt to stalk and hunt their prey. Cost is $5 per person.

Also on Saturday, March 15 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., PEEC is offering a beaver ecology hike. Participants will learn about these charismatic critters and explore PEEC’s indoor beaver lodge replica. They’ll then hit the trail to see the current beaver activity on campus. Cost is $5 per person.

The following day, Sunday, March 16, 10 a.m. to noon, PEEC is hosting a “bird bonanza.” Participants will spend the morning watching bird feeders and putting together their own unique bird feeder from a variety of recycled materials. PEEC will provide all materials, but you are welcome to bring their own supplies. Cost is $5 per person.

Later that same day, Sunday, March 16, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., PEEC is offering nature photography instruction. Some beginner techniques, such as how to frame a picture, will be taught. PEEC will take participants out to practice those skills on campus. This is recommended for children and those starting from scratch. Participants will need a camera, but a phone camera will do. Cost is $10 per person.
