‘Paint Your Pet’ fundraisers for Dessin

HAWLEY AND HONESDALE, PA — In late September, “Paint Your Pet” party fundraisers for the Dessin Animal Shelter will take place in Hawley and Honesdale. Pet portrait artist, painter and art instructor Jill Carletti will guide participants in painting their own pet portraits. Carletti will draw pets onto canvas for participants prior to the paint parties, and then give individual instruction to each participant.

The sessions will take place on Wednesday, September 26 at Vanderbeek Farm & Equestrian Center, Hawley, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and on Friday, September 28 at The Cooperage Project in Honesdale from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

“I’ve conducted dozens of ‘Paint Your Pet’ nights, and I’ve always wanted to do a fundraiser for Dessin Animal Shelter. Every animal deserves to be loved, and Dessin works to accomplish exactly this, by placing animals with loving families. It makes perfect sense to raise funds for Dessin through creating beautiful artwork of our closest, furriest family members,” said Carletti.

It costs $48 to register for a painting on a nine-by-12-inch canvas, or $58 for a 16-by-20-inch, and all supplies are provided. Participants may bring their own beverage or snacks. You can register at jillcarletti.com or visit jillcarletti.com/paint-your-pet-for-dessin. For more information or for help registering, call 570/470-8798.
