Dennis O. Falk, 81, of Narrowsburg, NY, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at home with his family by his side. The son of the late Wilford and Sylvia (Hornlund) Falk and of Swedish descent, he was born on July 17, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN.

Obituary: Dennis O. Falk

Dennis O. Falk, 81, of Narrowsburg, NY, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at home with his family by his side. The son of the late Wilford and Sylvia (Hornlund) Falk and of Swedish descent, he was born on July 17, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN. 

Dennis was a Navy Veteran who served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He moved to Narrowsburg, NY in 1969 with his wife and children, and was a member of St. Francis Xavier RC Church, Narrowsburg. Dennis was a retired truck driver, Narrowsburg Lumber salesman, self-employed carpenter and locksmith, and a member of the volunteer fire department scuba rescue diving squad. He loved ice skating; swimming; fishing; water skiing; camping; photography; his horse, Pajamas; and working with his hands. Dennis built his home 52 years ago with the help of his father. 

A family statement reads: “Dennis was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a man of few words, but larger than life with a heart of gold. Dennis most of all loved spending time with his family and dog Lucy. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.” 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Eileen Prendergast of Brooklyn, NY; five children: Mary Florio of Staten Island, NY; Barry Falk and his wife Lori of Narrowsburg; Gary Falk and his wife Krista of Glen Wild, NY; William Falk and partner Sue of Jeffersonville, NY; and Debra Falk of Narrowsburg; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerrold Falk, and his wife Rose of Roanoke, VA; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and his dog, Lucy. 

Dennis is predeceased by his parents and his brother Steven Falk. 

Visitation was held on Sunday, October 16 and Monday, October 17 at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, 3412 State Rte. 97, Barryville, NY. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, October 17 at 12 noon at St. Francis Xavier RC Church. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Father Dennis Dinan officiated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Dennis’s name to the charity of your choice.
