HONESDALE, PA — Wayne Memorial Health System announced last month that attorney Christine Rechner will be the new chairperson of its Long Term Care Board, which oversees the skilled nursing facility Wayne Woodlands Manor.
Rechner earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Politics from Pennsylvania State University and a law degree from Widener University of Law in Harrisburg.
She has practiced law at the Law firm of her father, Hugh Rechner, since 2002. A mother of two and grandmother of four, Rechner is also the editor of the Wayne County Legal Journal and chair of the Wayne County Public Library.
Rechner is replacing Jim Labar, a community activist who served several non-consecutive terms as chair. “[this position] has special meaning for me, as my grandmother was a resident at Wayne Woodlands for many years,” Rechner said in a press release.
“The care they provide in the facility is a direct reflection of the work of this board, and I hope we can continue to offer the high-quality nursing and rehabilitative care we have in the past.”
