Monticello police arrested Briana Bukovinsky (26) of Monticello on Tuesday 3/5/13. Bukovinsky was charged with felonies for D.W.A.I. by the use of drugs, 3 counts of Aggravated D.W.A.I. by the use of drugs and 3 counts of misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child.

At 6:35 PM Tuesday Monticello police responded to a report of a female passed out in a vehicle in a parking lot on Forestburg road in the village of Monticello. Bukovinsky was operating the vehicle with 3 children in the vehicle ages 2, 4 and 7.

Bukovinsky was subsequently arrested for D.W.A.I. by the use of drugs following field sobriety tests at the scene by investigating officers. While being processed at the Monticello police station Bukovinsky refused to submit to a chemical test to determine the drug content of her blood.

Bukovinsky was charged with Aggravated D.W.A.I. by the use of drugs under Leandra’s law due to the three children in her vehicle all being under the ages of 16. Bukovinsky also has a prior conviction for D.W.I. on 5/13/11 in the village of Monticello justice court.

Bukovinsky was arraigned before acting village of Monticello justice Martin Miller and remanded to the Sullivan county jail on $10,000.00 bail pending further court action. The Sullivan county sheriff dept. also assisted Monticello Police.
