Monticello man arrested for drugs while driving Moped without license

Monticello Police arrested Johnnie Wallace Jr. (30) of Monticello on Wednesday 10/9/13. Wallace was charged with felonies for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd and 4th degrees. He was also charged with unlawful possession of marihuana and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

At 11:20 PM Wednesday Monticello police stopped Wallace on St. John Street in the Village of Monticello while he was operating a Moped with an expired registration. Wallace was also operating the Moped without a valid driver license.

Upon further investigation officers found Wallace to be in possession of 23 pieces of crack cocaine individually wrapped in plastic and also a small quantity of marihuana. Wallace was arraigned before Village of Monticello justice Josephine Finn and remanded to the Sullivan county jail without bail pending further court action.
