Milford duo sued by attorney general’s office

MILFORD, PA — A Milford twosome, Erika Sherlock and Torrie Kolb, are being sued by State Attorney General Josh Shapiro’s office for allegedly ripping off customers, not completing work and related accusations.

Doing business as T.E.N. LLC, the two are accused of taking $11,000 from a 90-year-old Milford resident to replace a roof. Before beginning the work, Sherlock and Kolb demanded $8,000 more. Sherlock and Kolb then allegedly removed the roof, covered it with a tarp and demanded $8,000 more to finish the job. The resident was forced to hire another contractor to complete the project."

The lawsuit specifies a number of other clients that were victimized by T.E.N. The company did not respond to consumer complaints, did not provide refunds and otherwise violated the Consumer Protection Law and the Home Improvement Consumer Protection Act (HICPA).

The lawsuit requests that a court order permanently ban the defendants from doing business as a home improvement contractor in Pennsylvania; pay restitution to any consumers that have suffered losses because of Sherlock and Kolb’s actions; pay civil violations for violating the law in the amount of $1,000 for each violation, and $3,000 for each violation involving a resident over 65 years of age.

“Consumers relied on these defendants to perform work on their home that they desperately needed,” Shapiro said. “When Pennsylvania consumers enter into a contract with a home renovation company, pay up front for a project, then never sees the project completed in their home—this is a scam and my office will fight for you.”

Sherlock and Kolb could not be reached for comment.
