Mental health support line

PENNSYLVANIA — A 24/7 mental health and crisis support line for people dealing with anxiety or other difficult emotions has become available for residents of Pennsylvania . Callers will be able to speak with staff who are trained in trauma-informed principles and will listen, assess the person’s needs, triage and refer to other local supports and professionals as needed.

This mental health support line can be reached toll-free anytime at 855/284-2494 from anywhere in PA.

It’s a difficult time, and it’s easy to feel alone and cut-off from the world, but we need people to know that they are not alone and support is available.

Catskills Pride establishes fund to help LGBTQIA+ individuals in need

REGIONAL — Catskills Pride is providing financial assistance to those LGBTQIA+ individuals who are experiencing financial hardship due to COVID-19. People in need may apply for up to $250 in financial assistance.

Any Wayne County resident aged 60 or older can order a meal one day in advance to pick up at a drive-thru location at each of the centers. The agency is asking for a $2.50 donation for the meal.

‘A Single Bite’ providing meals

SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — The nonprofit A Single Bite brings programming to schools to empower young people to care about the food they eat and where it comes from. With schools closed due to the COVID-19 crisis, the team shifted their food-based mission to help feed local families at serious risk for hunger.

To supplement the efforts of school districts providing breakfast and lunch, A Single Bite is delivering 1,500 family meals every week to homes in the Livingston Manor, Roscoe and Sullivan West school districts.

The nonprofit is accepting donations to continue the program through the end of May; A Single Bite has raised close to $30,000 with a goal of $88,000.
