Meet the Hudson’s newest care providers

MIDDLETOWN/HARRIS, NY — The Greater Hudson Valley Health System Medical Group has announced a slate of new providers to its team.

Hospitalist Andrej Assa, MD, obtained his medical degree from State University of New York Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn. He completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY. He is Board-certified in Internal Medicine. He is fluent in Russian and Bulgarian. Dr. Assa works at Catskill Regional Medical Group in Harris.

Infectious diseases specialist Rekha Sivadas, MD, received her medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in Karnataka, India and completed her residency in internal medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. She was a Fellow of Infectious Diseases at SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital. Dr. Sivadas works at Orange Regional Medical Group in the Department of Infectious Diseases.

Arielle Gelardi, AGNP-C, received her post-master’s certificate in Adult/Gerontology Acute Care from University of Massachusetts in Boston, MA and holds a Master of Science degree from Adelphi University in Garden City. Arielle works at Orange Regional Medical Group in the Trauma Department.

Andrea Machado, FNP-BC, received her Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh and holds a Master of Science degree from University of Phoenix. Ms. Machado is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner and is part of the Post-Acute Care Department working primarily at Montgomery Nursing Home, Highland Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Schervier Pavilion at St. Anthony, Glen Arden in Goshen and the Catskill Regional Medical Center’s Skilled Nursing Unit.

Maria Noa, FNP-BC, received her family nurse practitioner certificate from College of Mount St. Vincent in the Bronx, and holds a Master of Science degree from College of Mount St. Vincent in the Bronx. Noa is board-certified as a family nurse practitioner and is part of the urgent care team at Orange Regional Medical Group in Middletown and Catskill Regional Medical Group in Monticello.

Jia Choi, RN, BSN, MSN oversees training of license practical nurses and medical assistants. She is also involved with patient-centered medical home and patient-centered specialty practice models. Choi has acute care experience in emergency services and, prior to joining the medical Choi has her certification in ACLS, PALs, BLS, TNCC.

Care manager and coordinator Antoinette De Jesus-Karellas, RN, BSN, is a graduate of SUNY Orange and Kaplan University. De Jesus-Karellas prior experience as a nursing supervisor and was a clinician and an educator, serving ARC of Sullivan and Orange Counties in a Day Habilitation setting. De Jesus-Karellas has experience in interacting and managing chronic disease among a diverse and challenging group of patients in various clinical settings.
