An alleged Maryland marijuana dealer is under arrest after he set up shop at the Days Inn in Wurtsboro.
On Thursday March 15, 2018, Hector Morales Jr, 42, was stopped by an Ulster County Deputy Sheriff in the Village of Ellenville for a traffic violation. During the stop Morales admitted to the Deputy that he was on his way to the post office to mail a package of marijuana.
Morales was arrested and taken to the Warwarsing sub-station where he was found to be in possession of a room key for the Days Inn on Route 209 in Wurtsboro. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office was then notified and the subsequent investigation led Deputies to Morales’ motel room where almost one pound of marijuana was recovered along with a food saver vacuum sealing machine.
Morales, was charged with felony possession of marijuana. He was arraigned before Town of Mamakating Judge Terrence Mullen and released on $750 bail to reappear in court on April 3, 2018. Morales was also charged with the Misdemeanor possession of marijuana in Ulster County. He was released on an appearance ticket pending a future court date.
