STARLIGHT — According to Wayne County Coroner, Edward R. Howell, at 12:21pm on October 9, 2025, his office was dispatched to the scene of a residential structure fire located at 26 Fall Brook Road, Buckingham Township, Starlight, PA. Reportedly, neighbors observed smoke coming from the home at approximately 10:56 AM and called 911 at that time.
Edward R. Howell, Wayne County Coroner and Laura Szymanski, Deputy Coroner responded to the scene to perform a death investigation. An adult male was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:56 PM by Coroner Howell. The decedent was identified as the homeowner, 79-year-old Donald A. Herbert.
An autopsy is planned for Saturday.
Pennsylvania State Police are also investigating. More information will be provided by this office as this death investigation continues.
