SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — There is still time to grab a seat on the “Magical History Tour,” the 24th annual historical-architectural bus trip that showcases and teaches about Sullivan County’s rich and colorful history. This year’s tour is scheduled for Saturday, June 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The tour will begin and end in Hurleyville. Tourists will travel through Fallsburg and Mamakating before stopping at the D&H Canal Linear Park in Phillipsport, once known as Lockport. At the Linear Park, participants will have an opportunity to stroll along the canal towpath with context provided by canal historians, view the exhibits in the D&H Canal Interpretive Center and visit the gift shop.

The tour takes place rain or shine. Registered participants will meet the bus in the municipal parking lot off Mongaup Road just west of Main Street in Hurleyville. Ample parking will be available, but participants are asked to car pool if possible.

Seats cost $45 per person, which includes lunch. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required; no seats will be sold the day of the trip. To secure your place, checks should be made payable to The Delaware Company and mailed to The Delaware Company, P.O. Box 88, Barryville, NY 12719.

For more information, email the executive director of The Delaware Company Debra Conway at debraRconway@hotmail.com or visit the group’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/thedelco.
