MILFORD, PA — The Pike County Historical Society and Museum will host an educational and entertaining performance starting at 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 28 with a program followed by a light supper, dessert and coffee. The program will be held in the Foundation Room of the museum.
Lou Del Bianco portrays his grandfather, Luigi Del Bianco, and talks about his unsung contribution as chief carver on Mount Rushmore. Lou Del Bianco uses authentic photos, timelines and primary source documents to bring Luigi’s story to life.
Learn about designer Gutzon Borglum’s praise of Luigi, the 25-year struggle to get him recognized and the television tribute that unveiled a plaque at Mount Rushmore.
Now a published book authored by Lou Del Bianco, “Out of Rushmore’s Shadow” talks about Luigi’s legacy and the immigrant struggle. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and can be signed.
The Columns Museum is located at 608 Broad St.
Tickets to the program cost $45 per person. Seating is limited, so reserve quickly.
