December is here, and it's bringing all the fun! The air is crisp, the holiday lights are up and everyone is starting to feel that festive vibe.
It's the time for hot cocoa, cozy sweaters, and maybe even a snowflake or two.
With winter break on the horizon, there's plenty to look forward to—whether it's decorating the tree, watching holiday movies or just hanging out with friends and family.
The countdown to the end of the year is on, and it's full of celebrations, excitement, and some serious holiday cheer.
Here are some events and happenings in and around our community:
The Cochecton Men’s Club will hold its first annual Kids’ Christmas Party on Saturday, December 14 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cochecton Men’s Club Hall (the former Cochecton Presbyterian Church). Santa and his elves will be there, and you’ll find ornament decorating, coloring and snacks. See you there!
The Sullivan West Class of 2030 will present the movie “Elf” at the Callicoon Theater on Wednesday, December 11 at 7 p.m. Get in the holiday spirit and wear your favorite ugly sweater.
Tickets cost $12, or $40 for a family pack of four or more. Pay at the door and support the Class of 2030.
Thank you to the Callicoon Theater for donating the space.
Dickens on the Delaware takes place on Saturday, December 14 from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Main Street in Callicoon. Retailers, galleries and restaurants will highlight their holiday goods and dazzle town visitors with their holiday spirit. Shopkeepers will be dressed in Victorian garb, and stores, restaurants and the surrounding environs will be decorated to recreate the days of yore.
There will be holiday markets with local artisans and seasonal treats, a holiday photo studio, caroling, LIVE music, activities for children, free horse-and-buggy rides, theater performances, hot chocolate, eggnog and spiced wine, and much, much more.
