Sullivan County District Attorney Jim Farrell announced today that Nicholas Daly, 35, of Liberty, N.Y. was sentenced in Sullivan County Court by Judge Michael McGuire to 7 years in prison and 5 years of post-release supervision for the burglary of a Liberty home.
Farrell said that Daly previously entered a plea of guilty to Burglary in the 2nd Degree, a class C violent felony, and admitted to breaking into a home on Loomis Road in the Town of Liberty and stealing various property from the home.
The homeowner was not home at the time of the break in and the property was subsequently recovered. Daly was arrested after an investigation by the New York State Police.
Daly was sentenced as a second felony offender having a prior conviction for attempted robbery in Suffolk County Court in 2008. Farrell said, “Home burglary continues to be a priority for my office and my law enforcement partners and we will continue to hold individuals like Daly, who violate the sanctity and privacy of our homes, accountable and responsible for their actions with state prison sentences.”
