LIBERTY — The New York State Police Child Abuse Unit in Troop F announces the arrest of Joseph W. Wallace, age 51, of Liberty, NY, following an investigation into unlawful sexual conduct involving a minor.

Wallace has been charged with the following offenses:

               • Predatory Sexual Assault of a Child, class A-II felony

               • Rape in the 3^rd Degree, class E felony

               • Two Counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, class A misdemeanor

The investigation was conducted by the New York State Police Child Abuse Unit in collaboration with Child Protective Services (CPS). The allegations involve Wallace engaging in sexual contact with a minor: a female under the age of thirteen in the town of Neversink, and a female under the age of seventeen in the town of Fallsburg.

Wallace was arraigned on September 16, 2025, in Fallsburg Town Court and was remanded to Sullivan County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear again in Fallsburg Town Court on September 17, 2025, at 5:30 p.m.
