Most of you know I am Cochecton’s tax collector, and we are getting to the end of January. If you did not make the January 31 payment, you cannot make payments, you have to pay in full.  When you are writing out the check, please make sure you put the date, sign the check and write in the correct amount. Send entire bill. If installment payments are not timely postmarked they will not be accepted. There is a $30 returned check charge. Taxes can be paid at the town hall on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Any other time is by appointment; just leave me a message at 845/932-8360 ext. 17 or email me at taxcollector@townofcochectonny.org

I wrote the wrong amount myself on a check to the supervisor. I wrote the new check out on scrap paper first. I guess I do not have that trouble in my personal checking account; I am lucky if I have a few hundred. I do not have to deal with hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Sullivan West Elementary PTSO yearbook site is now back online. To order this memory book for your children, go to ybpay.lifetouch.com and use code 4517920. The yearbook costs $19 online, $21 if you are paying by check or cash. You can go on Facebook to get the form. The deadline is March 1.

Let’s help the elementary kids help Australia by coming out to the elementary school in Jeffersonville on Saturday, February 1 between 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The KC Club wants to help plant trees for the wildlife once the fires are under control. The KC Club will be in the elementary lobby to help students make Valentines cards for loved ones. They will read books to children about the animals that are being endangered due to the fires in Australia. Entry is a $3 donation. If you are unable to attend but still would like to donate, visit the Sullivan West Elementary’s Facebook page, you can find a form to fill out to make a donation. The deadline is January 31 for the forms.

Please follow the Cochecton Youth Commission on Facebook at New Cochecton Youth Commission for all the upcoming events.

Please keep the family of Joyce Cavanaugh in your thoughts and prays as she passed away last week.

Keep smiling and have a great week. You can email me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news. You can always check me out in Community Living.
