Ag businesses can survive and thrive

Posted

HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne Tomorrow! Agricultural Task Force and its many partners invite agricultural producers to the next Farmer to Farmer networking opportunity.

Join the discussion this Tuesday, March 7, at 6 p.m. We'll talk about the bottom line and how ag business can be supported through leveraging funding and marketing opportunities.

"Popcorn and Profits: Leverage Local Support” will be a mix-and-mingle style meeting. It will start with introductions of the organizations in our area that offer programs to small businesses, focusing particularly on our local farm and food businesses.

Local lending options keep small businesses in mind, and organizations offer grant writing and other workshops, which help small businesses grow individually or collectively.

We're serving up popcorn while we plan for success! Bring your questions and ideas.

Introductions will begin at 6:15 p.m., and we’ll be there till 8 p.m. Come when you are able to join us.

With a goal of building strong connections within our local food system, Farmer to Farmer meetings are networking events for farmers, food businesses and ag advocates. The meetings are hosted by the Cooperage Project, Pike/Wayne Farm Bureau and PASA/Wayne County Grown, and participants can share experiences, knowledge and needs for the growth of our agricultural community.

The events are free and open to anyone interested or knowledgeable about the topic(s) being discussed.

Who will you meet at the March Farmer to Farmer event?  The Wayne County Community Foundation, USDA Rural Development, NEPA Alliance, Honesdale National Bank, Wayne Tomorrow! Ag Task Force, and Horizon Farm Credit.
