Hoarding behaviors and homelessness diversion

The workshop is relevant to human services professionals but is also open to the general public. Lunch will be provided. For more information or to RSVP, call 570/775-5550.

Canadian clergyman and gay-rights activist to host service

NARROWSBURG, NY — The Rev. Dr. Brent Hawkes, one of Canada’s greatest champions for equal rights, will speak on Sunday, December 1 at the Narrowsburg Union. He served as senior pastor at Toronto’s Metropolitan Community Church for 40 years and plans to spend his retirement working with LGBTQ people of faith around the globe to help develop stronger religious-based responses to religious-based homophobia.

“My work will be change hearts and change minds,” he says.

In 2001, four years before it was legal for gays to marry in Canada, Rev. Hawkes gained international attention by performing a wedding ceremony for two same-sex couples.

All are invited to the one-hour service sponsored by the Upper Delaware Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. Directions can be found at www.uduuf.org
