DAMASCUS, PA — The second annual Last Chance Yard Sale will take place at the Damascus Manor Community Center (DMCC) at 60 Conklin Rd. from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 28.
Vendors will offer a cornucopia of crafts, local products and produce, as well as closet clean-outs on the grounds of Damascus Township’s property with special informational booths from not for profits inside the community center.
You’ll find everything from locally made fine knives to solar-powered oddities.
The Last Chance Yard Sale was launched last year thanks to an idea from two new DMCC volunteers. They (and the other volunteers) help with recycling on the second Saturday of every month, regularly attend meetings and donate their time and energy to supporting the mission of DMCC.
That mission is to serve the greater good of the citizens and residents of Damascus Township by building community and providing activities that support social and economic well-being.
“We thought the Last Chance Yard Sale would be a great way to bring the community together, and in the process, offer residents the opportunity to get rid of items they no longer need,” said David Landis, one of the Yard Sale organizers. “Additionally, the yard sale shines the light on our local artisans who will be selling their crafts and wares."
There is still a little room left for vendors to participate in the Last Chance Yard Sale, for a cost of $5 a booth. There is no charge for nonprofits that wish to participate. Vendors can call 570/729-7270. To become a volunteer, email Linda Dexter at ljdexter@ptd.net.
