SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — A billowing fire set the former Daitch building ablaze on Sunday morning just before noon. The Sullivan County Sheriff's office was on the scene. Most of the fire departments in Sullivan County were called to fight the three-alarm fire. The Monticello Fire pumper was first on the scene and waited for other department assistance.

The building is located at 32 Jefferson Street in the Village of Monticello. Thick black smoke was seen by residents who were voting early at the Sullivan County Government Center.

This is a developing story.
