I hope everyone had a very Happy Thanksgiving. As for me, I cooked for 10. Everyone helped with the clean-up and we played games laughed and had a very fun time. I was out and about shopping on Friday, got great deals and lots of Christmas presents.

On Friday night I went out to dinner with my brother, sister and brother-in-law to Three Wishes. There was a rowdy crowd out at the bar; was Tom and Sandy Nuttycomb with friends celebrating Sandy’s birthday. Dinner was very good. Saturday, I spent the day with cousins. Sunday I stayed home and rested up for another week of work. Life is good

We lost another Cochecton resident: Glenn Swenson, passed away at the age of 81. Glenn spent the last 15 months in Sullivan County Adult Care Center where he was treated well and with respect. I spoke with his son Steve, who told methat  the last few weeks were rough. On Saturday, November 26 Glenn went in his sleep and he is at peace up in heaven with his family. I will always remember how good he smelt with his aftershave.

When Tommy and I first moved to Cochecton we got involved with the Cochecton Preservation Society taking down the train station and rebuilding it where it stands today. Glenn was a big part of that. I liked listening to all his stories, and listening to him talking about Cochecton back in the day.

Glenn was born in Cochecton and took over the family farm from his dad and loved his cows. Steve spoke of him as his buddy—loved working with his dad at the farm. Supervisor Gary Mass said Glenn was a councilman and on the planning board for many years. Glenn was a hard worker and when he spoke he said what he thought whether that's what you thought or not. A straight shooter. Our prayers go out to Glenn’s family. Glenn may you rest in peace. You will surely be missed.

The Lake Huntington Fire Company is selling tickets for its New Year's Day chicken barbeque. Ask any of the firefighters and they can hook you up, or call RuthAnn at 845/932-8514. It is take-out only, and costs $10 each from 3 p.m. until sold out.

Please note that all checks made out to the food pantry located in Narrowsburg and the Open Your Hearts toy drive should be made out to "Ecumenical Food Pantry."

Have a great week and email leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have news.
