I am so mad at E-ZPass: they have another license plate attached to my E-ZPass account, I closed out my tag  and got another one with a new number. I got my statement today, and I’m still getting charged for someone else who uses it Monday through Friday. If you have E-ZPass you should check your statement and your credit charge statement. Very annoying.

Catskill Detachment 652 of the Marine Corps League is open to men and women who served in all branches of the U.S. military. Meetings are 7:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month at the Stone Arch Inn (between Kenoza Lake and Jeffersonville) and include a delicious multi-course dinner. Anyone who wishes to join should bring form DD214 with them.

The Roycroft Family BBQ will be held at Hectors Inn on September 22 at 14 Dr. Duggan Rd. in Bethel. Tickets must be purchased prior to the event; they cost $20 and can be purchased at Hectors or by contacting Lisa Edwards at 845/649-3770, Eileen Hennessy at 914/799-4486, or Penny Ackermann at 845/701-2065.

The St. Baldrick’s event on September 9 at the corner in Eldred is looking for people to shave their heads to help fight childhood cancer. You can register at stbaldricks.org/events/lineofhope2018, or you can give Lou a call at 845/557-3321 or email lineofhope@hvc.rr.com.

Join the Cochecton Youth Commission (CYC) for a day at Roba’s Family Farm on October 6 (with a rain date of October 13). You can sign up at the Cochecton Town Hall on September 11 from 6 to 6:45 p.m.. Save the date: overnight trip to Aquatopia Water Park on December 1 to 2; more details to follow.

CYC has an opening on its board; if you are interested, the meetings are the first Tuesday of the month in the lower level of the town hall. Join the CYC for a Back-to-School Book Bingo Bonanza on Friday, September 28 at 6:45 p.m. What is Book Bingo? It is similar to regular bingo, except when you get bingo, you win an awesome new book. CYC will have brand-new books for ages ranging from tots to teens. They will be centered on the interests of those who sign up. The event is free for in-town youth, but bring some money for a small bake sale and maybe some other fun surprises, too. Sign-ups will be on September 11 from 6 to 7 p.m. Contact Michelle two hours before sign-ups if you cannot make it at 579/419-8801. Out-of-town children can attend for $5, but must sign up. If you would like to assist in baking some snacks for the event, please let CYC know; they would love the help.

Save the date: there will be a penny social at the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church sponsored by the Ladies Aid on October 20; details to follow.

Keep smiling and have a great week. Email  leenie beans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have news. You can always check me out at riverreporter.com in Community Living.
