Hope you all are well and enjoying this nice weather; as for me, I try to stay in AC. When I go out I get coughing fits and itchy, watery eyes and itchy ears. Yes, I do take allergy pills: two in the morning and two at night. Pollen and I just do not agree. I was out and about Saturday afternoon at the Great Annual Pig Roast put on by Lake Huntington Service Center. If you want to have fun, try walking with a balloon between you and someone else to the finish line. We did not drop the balloon, nor did we pop it, but we got to the finish line a little too late. Lots of laughs and fun. Thank you, Kristin and Brett.

On July 14 from 3 to 6 p.m., Lake Huntington Fire Co. is having its eat-in or take-out chicken barbeque. The $11 per dinner cost includes chicken, potato salad, baked beans, cranberry sauce, roll and butter, and dessert. See a fireman for tickets or call 845/932-8514 or 932-8444.

Here’s a letter just sent out by Michael Popolillo, president of the Lake Huntington NY Lake Association, Inc.: “Another summer has come and the problem of algae covering our beautiful lake continues. The lake association still needs your help to combat this ever-troubling problem. On July 21 at 11 a.m. we will be having our general membership meeting at the Nutshell Arts Center in beautiful Lake Huntington, NY. We need your support at this meeting, and look forward to taking this time to tell you about what the association has been doing the last several months to remedy this problem. If you haven’t paid your 2018 dues, please bring them with you for this meeting; the dues are still $100 and we desperately need this to keep moving forward in our fight to combat the algae problem. All donations above and beyond the dues amount are greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you at the meeting. Thank you in advance for your support!”
