I would like to start off my column this week with a “congratulations!” to Peggy and Larry Richardson on their 50th wedding anniversary. I wish you many years of love and happiness. You are a very lucky couple to have each other for 50 years.

I think fall has finally arrived; it’s getting really chilly at night—I love it. Paul Genco would like to let everyone know that Genco Firehouse Antiques is officially closed for the season. He will see you in the spring.

Lake Huntington Prebysterian Church, on Route 116, will host a penny social on Saturday, October 20, at the church building. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and calling is at 12:30 p.m. Hotdogs, sauerkraut, water and soda will be available for purchase, and there will be free coffee and cake after calling. If you would like to make a donation call Vicky Krauss at 845/932-8923. All of these ladies work so hard to keep their church going, please come on out and support them.

Hello fellow ghosts and ghouls. Lakeview Pizzeria & Bar in Lake Huntington is hosting their Halloween party on Saturday, October 27 starting at 8 p.m. DJ Mad Max of Maus Music Entertainment will provide the music, and there will be giveaways and a costume contest. You must be 21 or older and have a valid ID. For more information call Chris at 845/932-5061

Lake Huntington Lake Association is still looking for support in moving forward to make the lake healthy again. If you are a homeowner on the lake, you can find out how to pay your dues—or make a donation just because you love the lake—by contacting lhnylakeassocia tion@gmail.com. Thank you to all for making the lake safe and beautiful.

Please keep the family of Augie Healy in your thoughts and prayers on his passing.
