Extra, extra, read all about it: Heinle’s General Store has been sold to a very nice guy named Raj. I stopped in there one day and met with Raj and Nick, the old owner. I was told that the store will be opening within the next few weeks for breakfast and lunch. Raj told me the hours will be 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., but it’s not written in stone. I wish Raj the best of luck. It will be great to be able to run there for milk, ice-cream—you know, the important stuff.

These last few weeks I have been out and about a lot. I worked the logging pancake breakfast in Narrowsburg and met one of my readers, John Higgins from Milanville, PA. Thank you, John, for the kind words; I will continue to give you a chuckle.

I have to thank everyone in the Town of Cochecton for voting for me in this election. I had the most votes out of everyone; without all the Conservatives, Republicans and Democrats, I could not have gotten all the votes. Let’s make this tax season the best. Save the stamp and come visit me. More information about tax season to come.

On December 3 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the town hall, there will be signups for the Cochecton Youth Commission (CYC) holiday pizza party, which takes place on December 8 at 1 p.m. at Lakeview Pizzeria. On Saturday, February 22, 2020, West Point Hockey—$25 for adults and out-of-town guests. Actual chair-back seating. Close to the ice. No bleacher seating. Contact Sue at 845/866-0853. From Saturday, December 7 through Saturday, December 14 there will be a Holiday Gift Book Sale at the Jeffersonville branch of the library during library hours. For more information, call 845/482-4950. This is sponsored by the Friends of Western Sullivan Public Library.
