January is over, and I survived the worst part of tax season. Thank you to my deputy tax collector Kristin Lockwood. Town board member Anna Story is always there for me for computer questions. I will be sitting in the town hall collecting taxes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in February and March from 4 to 7 p.m., or call if you need to make other arrangements. If you have not made the first payment in January, you have to make full payment from this point on. You can always get tax information at www.taklookup.net.

There will be a Cochecton Youth Commission (CYC) trip to the Bronx Zoo on May 21. The CYC will be holding sign-ups March 7. This will be a full-day trip. The bus will leave at approximately 7 a.m. and return in the late evening. At this time sign-ups are for Cochecton youth and their immediate family only, as space may be limited. If the bus is filled a waiting list will be utilized. Details on cost to follow. Make sure you check out CYC on Facebook for upcoming events like skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing and movies.

This year the Heart-a-Thon will be held on Saturday, February 11 at Catskill Regional Medical Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (for more information see page 10). Make a donation: all money goes to the hospital.

A special happy birthday to our own Highway Superintendent Kevin Esselman, town board member Anna Story, Richard Ross and Dottie Schlegel, who says she is 29 again—I do not believe her. Keep smiling and enjoy life.
Have a great week and email leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have news.
