It’s Friday afternoon—I have to get the column in early because of the Memorial Day weekend. In my last column, I told you I was not a morning person and I do not like getting up early. Well today, I was up an out of the house by 7:15. I picked up my friend Kathy, and we met up with my friend Kim to go to the YMCA over by Carbondale. We farted around in the pool for about 15 minutes and did a 45-minute workout with water aerobics. It’s so easy to walk, jog and do leg lifts in the water, but it was like walking through mud trying to lift my legs to get out of the pool. We sat in the sauna, took showers and then went for pizza and a salad for lunch. It was like a mini-vacation. I hope we do it again.
With summer right around the corner, the Cochecton Ambulance Corporation would like to remind you, if you do not have your 911 address showing on your house, please take care of that.
The Women’s Community Club of Cochecton is again offering scholarships to graduating Sullivan West seniors who live in Cochecton. All that is required is an essay or presentation about community service. The deadline is June 5. For more details, contact the school guidance office. You can also call Pam Deman at 845/252-7208.
Saturday, June 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a community yard sale on Heinle’s Field, rain or shine. A 10 by-10-foot space costs $15, and you must supply your own table and tent if needed. Set up begins at 8 a.m. This is a benefit for the Cochecton Center Community Center, Inc. A tour of the church building will commence at 11 a.m..
The Solly Katzoff Cochecton Ambulance Corps Park will be closed until further notice. I let you know when it is officially open.
Keep smiling and have a great week. You can email me at
