John T. Hutzky, 86, of Madison Township, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 6, 2020.

Born on September 20, 1934 in Saratoga Springs, NY, he was the son of the late John and Ruth Lillian (Thomas) Hutzky. John proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and, prior to retiring from the National Park Service, was the superintendent of the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River in Narrowsburg, NY.

John was a published author of the book “Death Comes to Saratoga” and spent several years as an editor at The Villager Newspaper. He enjoyed watching baseball and old movies; he was an avid history buff. John volunteered as a driver for Meals on Wheels of NEPA and at the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter.

As a loving husband, father and grandfather, John gave his family his very best, as it was his nature. He will be missed here and certainly never forgotten; heaven has gained one more outstanding occupant.

John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Priscilla Ann (Peltz); his sons, Brian and Mark Hutzky, and Mark’s wife, Ruth; and his granddaughter, Kayla.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Meals on Wheels of NEPA at 541 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, PA 18509. Arrangements will be private and are entrusted to Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, LLC in Spring Brook Township.
