REGION — Residents of Honesdale Borough joined neighboring towns, and more than 800 communities throughout the country, on Saturday in a display of support for the U.S. Postal Service. In response to Postmaster General Louis DeJoy’s controversial cost-cutting changes to USPS operations, organizer and River Reporter columnist Skip Mendler, pictured here in front of Honesdale’s post office with other demonstrators, said “Ben Franklin is rolling over in his grave. DeJoy’s changes to USPS have reportedly caused delays in the delivery of mail, causing concern for the upcoming General Election, in which a record number of voters are expected to cast mail-in ballots due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
