STERLING, PA — A fun and educational show about early farm life is scheduled for September 29 and 30, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Route 196 and Gas Hollow Road in Sterling, south of Hamlin, PA. The free family event features demonstrations of antique farm equipment such as this mule-powered treadmill which operates a threshing machine, hit and miss engines, a corn sheller, a rock crusher, a shingle mill, steam engines and an ice cream maker. Take a horse-drawn hay ride; observe quilters, spinners and weavers; visit an historic cottage and explore vintage washing machines while enjoying a free sample of ice cream.
