CALLICOON, NY — On February 6, Diehl Us In 4H Club traded in their horses for skis and enjoyed an awesome day at the Villa Roma ski hill. They extended a special thanks to the Villa Roma for a great day.

SUNY Cortland senior Jenna Kratz of Cochecton earns national honor

CORTLAND, NY — SUNY Cortland senior Jenna Kratz of Cochecton was recognized for excellence by the national Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE).

She earned the society’s Major of the Year award.

Only 113 physical education majors nationwide received this recognition, which is one of the highest pre-professional honors given by SHAPE in the fields of health, physical education, recreation and dance.

Kratz will formally receive the award at the society’s annual national conference in New Orleans in April.

Building resilience for women in business

ONLINE — The Mid-Hudson Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host an online conference for women in business on March 8 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

March 8 is International Women’s Day.

“We feel women in business need a lot of support right now,” said Myriam Bouchard, business advisor for the SBDC and the organizer of the event. “It’s been a difficult two years and female entrepreneurs need all the help they can get.”

Sessions will focus on health and wellness; branding and long-term strategies for businesses; and planning ahead, creating financial independence and financial health.

New York State Sen. Michelle Hinchey will speak.

Recordings of each presentation will be available to attendees for up to one month after the event.

New date for Chamber of the Northern Poconos T-Mobile event

HONESDALE, PA — The public is invited to a grand opening/ribbon-cutting for a new T-Mobile business. The new date is 11 a.m. on Friday, March 4. The event will be held at 1199 Texas Palmyra Hwy. in the Route 6 Plaza in Honesdale.
