Homeowner offers $2,500 reward for vandal info

Posted

NARROWSBURG, NY — With guidance from New York State Troopers, a property owner is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the “arrest and conviction of the person responsible for felony criminal mischief,” causing three broken windows at a home located at 266 Swamp Pond Rd. in the Weiden Lake community.

Richard Marcel, the owner, said the damage occurred three separate times, in June 2018, April 2019 and January 2020. Marcel is a part-time resident of the community.

The reward is being offered through the NYS Crime Stoppers non-profit created to help law enforcement agencies investigate crimes in the state. Anyone with information about the broken windows, which cost $3,500 to replace, is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 866/313-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous, and a flyer announcing the reward says that no caller ID or tracking will be employed. However, to qualify for the reward, the person providing the information must call the hotline number, provide information, and obtain a confidential ID number.
